Hi Raja Mohan,
UCS provisioning is supported by BaldeLogic. All your queries are answered in online documentation.
Amit, the integration process doesn't really work well on 8.3.2 version we are on. The documentation doesn't outline how end to end provisioning will work. My situation I need to be able to discover the available blades in the UCS infrastructure, assign mac/storage from the pools, the blcli creates the template and doesn't assign a mac or wwpn until the provisioning job is run. when the provisioning job is run, it is already going through PXE but there is no storage is provisioned yet. Storage cannot be zoned to a HBA until a wwpn is assigned... may be i overlooked. we have an idea to separate the template creation and provisioning job process. Until that is implemented, I am not sure how this end to end process will work. I am open to ideas. I would appreciate if you can point to me in documentation how the implementation use case is documented?
So, you want to create the ucs job, from the blcli, but not assign the provisioning job ?
Bill Robinson yes, I am envisioning similar to a VGJ. After a UCS profile is defined and available, I can inquire to identify the WWPN, call a BAO workflow to assign storage, followed by discovery of MAC and then kick off a provisioning job, which will follow by all our application, post provisioning hardening, security compliance scan/reports
we are thinking of letting the UCSProvisioning job run and time it out after like 10 minutes or so, during which period the storage can be provisioned followed by setting the device to reprovision status and kick of a provisioning job.
- It is not elegant, but is there a way to discover the running UCS provisioning job and cancel it?
- why is the device gets set to provisioned status (mac under devices) even before the provision completes and OS installed? I am not sure if it is the normal behavior, haven't paid attention to it before.
