Write a filter to set to In Progress on the work order form
For my part, I should not directly create the Work-Order "In Progress".
The status "Assigned" is just to say that the ticket has been created and assigned to a support group and you need that someone take it into account and push the status to "In Progress" to say your user "I work on it".
Perhaps you should update operating manual to explain your support staff to push it quickly in status "In Progress" ?
Yes, it is possible.
1) Add the Status to Target Data in work order AOT.
2) Define a variable name called "Status" in PDT then map this to AOT Target Data in PDT.
3) Define a question in SRD and then map this question to PDT variable status in SRD questions and mapping tab.
Select the PDT variable Status in SRD questions and Mapping tab then in the Text field pass the values "In Progress" to that value and then click on Add button.
4) While creating a Service Request enter Status value as "In Progress" and then remaining as per your requirement then Submit the ticket.
When you select the target data as Status in AOT there only you can provide Static value as "In Progress" to that target data then clikc on Add and it should always create your work order in progress only.
Thanks & Regards,
Raju, I opened the Application Object Template and I clicked on Add Target Data. From the Available Target Data dialog window (left side) I selected Status and set Exposed to YES and Default Value is In Progress and I clicked ADD. You can see in the right column (Selected Target Data) it shows at the bottom of the list.
However, when I create the request through the Request Entry Console the Work Order has a status of Assigned and NOT In Progress.
P.S.: We are using 9.1
I also tested this and configuring Target Data for STatus where default value is "In progress" does not set WOI to this status. It is always "Assigned".
I would like to have this configuration only on specific SRD where WOI is created... not on all WOI in general.
Then try removing default value and set it blank and then test. Your mapping is overridden by default value on status field.
Which mapping. on AOT you mean as Target field?
I also tried this but it does not work. I selected AOT and set Stauts default value to In Progress. And again WOI was created in status Assigned.
Andrej, were you able to get this working?
Sandy, were you able to get this working?
