No ideas, anyone?
I am unable to figure out any blcli command with get namespace.
blcli get "/group/Servers/Workspace/vCenter/nlsmtdevms001.dev.smt.infra/VMware vCenter Server"
which BSA version ?
I was hoping that someone would have an answer to this, because until BSA and BDSSA has reports for ESXi servers, there is no way to get the inventory please vote for https://communities.bmc.com/ideas/4745
You can use " Virtualization listVirtualCenterCOEntitiesByServerName" which lists the ESXi server CO's but I cannot find anything to gather further information.
And here is the solution...
blcli get "/id/SystemObject/Server/340ae193-0f06-4d72-9626-f17ac47ffa40/Assets/BMC_VMware_VirtualInfrastructureManager/Virtual Machines/avww2k08r2ob3.cd
Where 340ae193-0f06-4d72-9626-f17ac47ffa40 is the objectID of the vCenter Server. You can query it using following URI: /type/PropertySetClasses/SystemObject/Server/
Hope that helps some others as well. :-)
Thanks this is good information - of course, this should be directly reportable in BDSSA under the virtualization reports. But this seems a long way off to being provided by BMC
Indeed, Unfortunately it isn't the solution for your "challenge"... sorry, but I voted for your idea ;-)
True - it is not a solution for our requirement but it does gives us a potential solution for one-off requirements (where PowerCli isn't available)
