8.2 is a very old and now unsupported version. You should really look to upgrading.
What do you mean by hangs up?
Does the in progress tab show correctly?
The tab is generated from a search in the datastore. If you look in tw_svc_model.log. There should be any entry starting with 'SEARCH DiscoveryRun WHERE endtime IS DEFINED and run_type = 'Discovery'". Does it log say it started and completed the search?

The issue was because the LDAP configuration was enabled, but the appliance could not resolved the LDAP server hostname. After we resolve this, the issue was resolved.
I guess the new version handles this issue much better.
