Has anyone used "component template" feature of BAA?
BladeLogic Server Automation is commonly known as BSA not BAA... coming to your questions...
You need to use or create grammar file to discover configuration files on managed servers and then do actions like
- Deploy (Through Action tab of component template)
#1 you need to add the config file into Component Template as a Part
#2 you need to take Master Snapshot (first snapshot) then run snapshots to see changes and from the result, you can create drift package and deploy or remediate or Sync To Master Snapshot. (Original Config File).
#3 good question, there are multiple ways we can achieve this. By live browse and modify or change grammar file.
Refer: https://docs.bmc.com/docs/display/public/bsa83/Configuration+files for more info.
We can walk you through these scenarios if you want.
I just want to add that the confusion here was mine - I'm not trying to be critical or lay blame on anyone else :-)
We have another product that abbreviates to BAA and I jumped to the conclusion that this thread must belong in that space. I was wrong :-(
Thanks & Regards,
