    Agent Upgrade On Linux Servers

    Madhu Pruthi

      Hi All,

Background: Most of our infrastructure has 8.1.05 RSCD agents. We are aiming to upgrade all our linux servers to 8.3.02.

I am carrying out tests on a linux server that had a 8.1.05 agent.

I have created a file deploy job with the following source:

      • {Server}/D/BL_Installer/RSCD83-SP2-LIN64.sh

The job has the following post command:

      chmod 700 /tmp/RSCD83-SP2-LIN64.sh

      nohup /tmp/RSCD83-SP2-LIN64.sh -silent

With this job, I am able to upgrade most of the servers. But on some of the servers, agent is not getting installed.

I have attached the Job Log.

      Kindly assist asap.

                Hi Madhu,

                Few questions here:

                1) How did you check agent is not upgraded?

                2) agentinfo output?

                3) The job ran against 4 servers, are all fail to upgrade or which are the failing one?

                4) appserver log BLDAW01B, BLDAW01A from

                Start Time,Feb 17, 2014 7:37:26 PM

                End Time,Feb 17, 2014 7:48:16 PM

                Regards,

                Ankur

                  Hi Ankur,

I did check the agents on all four servers. None of the agents got upgraded. With the same job I am able to upgrade agents on other servers.

                  PFA appserver logs for BLDAW01B.

Have you executed the USP job on the upgraded server, do the agent info to those target, live browse those servers.Check the installation log on the target.

I verified both ways- executed agentinfo and also checked from BL Console.

I've seen this before a restart of the agent on the target should resolve the issue.

agentinfo CRSPL01V from appserver nsh prompt

Also, it seems you ran the job with DEBUG_MODE_ENABLED property set to true. Could you please provide me with the debug log from <BLDAW01B>/NSH/tmp/application_server/DEBUG/ 'log file with timestamp + job name'

Please attach the bldeploy log from RSCD_HOME/Transactions/log.
