Actually I haven't got the idea of this case, maybe you can give me more details.
are you trying to run external script and get the result using PATROL agent?
First of all thanks for your quick answer.
I am not trying to do that, the thing is that the customer wants to monitor his Windows and Unix servers with BMC Performance Manager for Servers. And, also wants to monitor the PatrolAgent service (on Windows) or PatrolAgent process (on Unix) and send an event to BEM informing that the PatrolAgent services is down. Besides, our customer wants to send an event to BEM if one of the Patrol for Windows parameter is offline status.
Do you know if anyone has developed a similar script in order to meet our customer needs?
Thanks in advance.
Regarding the status of PatrolAgent, if you use BEM and Bii4p (BMC Impact Integration for Patrol) in order to integrate Patrol to BEM
PatrolAgent's status is monitored by default.
i.e : if an agent is stopped or failed, you will get the corresponding alert in BEM.
The default alert is : PATROL Agent is unreachable. Agent: [youragent:agentport]
Regarding the status of critical parameters, you can perform it with PatrolCli embedded in Perl or Shell script (or whatever you wants !)
Hope that helps.
Thanks for your assistant. I will review the PatrolCli manual because I never have used it.
Regarding the status of PatrolAgent, I will use BEM and Bii4p (BMC Impact Integration for Patrol) in order to integrate Patrol to BEM and I will test it.
Thanks a lot and I will keep informed.
