There are field customization options which include the ability to set something required in the configuration area of Track-It! That would be in the Admin Console under Configuration – Administration – Field Customization OR by clicking in the field and pressing Ctrl-F2 in Track-It! 11. It is located in Configuration -> Form Definitions -> Form Customization for Track-It! 2018.
I think it's not only a technical question but functional one.
Talking about customer needs, they regularly wants to minimum have closed information to each ticket:
- Technician who closed the ticket
- Resolution provided
In Track-It 20.x.x we can't configure native objects Technician field and Resolution Note to be mandatory.
Which is the good way?
This is not currently possible but is something we are looking at adding to the new system in a future release.
As a workaround, I used one of the custom text fields and added it to the Ticket / Assignment forms and labeled it as Resolution. Then you can set this field to be "required on close". It's not the best solution but it works for now until they add this feature to a future release.
