I could not find this object to add field. You can create simple visualfoce page which can show labels from that object with other columns. Add as tab.
getLabel() is only option i can think of. Tried creating formula but same issue cant get label.
Others may have more sugessions.
First of all, what is the use case here? Not sure why you want to do this??
Second, you will not achieve this without custom code. Under 'SYSTemplateFieldInfo', fieldname is a text field, set by code from BMC. There is no lookup or any dynamic logic. It's just a part of the BMC API Name.
Your custom logic could check if the fieldname is a part of the api name, if true, set the label of that API name. A lot of work, and still not sure why>
Anyway, not possible with standard logic.
When someone requests a template they may not provide everything so I make presumptions. I like to respond with a recap of the fields/values that were set. That way we don't have to revisit it later because my presumptions were wrong.
If I bring up the template record in salesforce, I can see the field Field Name and Value but not all users will know what some of these fields are (OwnerID, contactType). Hence, the Field Label is more reader friendly.
I was just hoping there was a simple way to get the label since we have the field name.
Please raise it as idea. Small thing for BMC to add to their existing code.
I agree to raise this as an idea for enhancement to make reporting easy.
For now, John, for your communication, you can consider exporting the info out of this object and use Excel / Vlookup from a sheet which does the translation/labeling. In your excel you will have to have Label values for all commonly used fields in Templates.
Not easy, but once setup, then reporting out of the excel for your internal user/communication for on going Template setup can be faster I guess.
