Danut, which version of Smart IT are you using?
I've tried this on my side, and I see the vendor ticket editable in all stages up to Completed. It is not editable in approval stages, but that generally applies to other fields as well. Could this be a permission issue?
We have Smart IT 19.02 patch 1.
The scope was to make the field editable in Schedule For Approval stage, which we have achieved in ITSM.
Can you give a try to smart it restart because ITSM meta data changes needs smart it service restart.

The restart of Smart it didn't help.
But after searching for different options, I have managed to create a Provider Action Template+ Provider Action and associate that action to the field in Smart IT in screen configuration. Now based on the associated action to the field, it can be edited
