While it is not officially supported, I have successfully installed and run 11.4 SP1 on Windows Server 2016 and SQL Server 2016. I imagine it would be fine on SQL Server 2017 as well.
If you are moving Track-It, one thing to know is that the Copy/Move batch file for moving Track-It to a different server will fail on the database moving part, with a SQL version not supported message. The components only moving part will work, but the database will need to be manually moved.
I installed Track It 11.4 on Windows 2016.
It seems to work, but I got a message when I installed. I'm not familiar enough with TrackIt to know if it is an issue. Is it just that it couldn't deploy a database to SQL 2016, or might there be configuration issues?
"A problem occurred during the deployment of the database or configuration file updates. Refer to log file for information: (path) The remaining processes will continue."
It appears that TI is running.
If I run the move/copy batch file will it bring over what might be missing?
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.
Is there a log file at the path in the error message? If you don't know the path any longer you might look in the C:\Windows\Temp folder on the Windows server and sort by Date Modified to see if there is anything there. If you have the log and would like to attach it here I can take a look.
I decided to try an install with SQL Express to take the newer SQL server I am hoping to use out of the picture. The install went without issue this time.
Now I get to do the move! There seems to be quite a bit of info on the batch file.
Thank you for your prompt reply!
Great! No problem, let us know how it goes!
