are you using the Actions? That are configured in the Screen Configuration? that might be your best option.

We do it like this:
using this one we open direct audit log entry for the ticket.
F1...161 is field ID
[id] is variable from smartIT
F1...629 is field ID
1000 is selection value
I've tried using the incident search and get an invalid character message
This was with the Action :
The odd thing is if I type the incident reference into this URL string it works perfectly, as in replacing the "#IncidentNumber#" with an actual incident like "INC000000000403" opens the MT incident record fine.
On checking it appears that the Quotation marks are not required when sending from SmartIT which is slightly at odds with what is in
Look like your url is not complete, i see the following portion is missing in the url you posted.
Where #IncidentNumber# will be your incident number and %22 mean " , when you replace #IncidentNumber# with your incident number INC000000000403, url encoder will replace %22 with double quotes "
Thanks - the truncation was just an error in the copying of the URL. Even replacing the Hex chars with their equivalent I still get the same error. I've tried using the #IncidentNumber# as well as the hardcoded incident number to test. When using a hardcoded incident ref, I do get the search opening up but it gives a search result list that includes all the incidents I have access to rather than opening just the single incident. I'm still scratching my head on this one.
