        Hi,

I'm the client of Jan and Amar.

The problem still persists since upgrade to 9.1.04. and BMC doesn't find any solution at the moment. They just asked us to send the content and will begin investigations.

We made some further investigation and Jan "fine tuned" the job to find the root cause. Job is now hanging systematically during AR OUTPUT step. We changed the commit size of loading but it freeze during first commit wathever the amount.

We encount some errors due to text parsing and mandatory information missing but job should normally run even without crash.

Nothing errors on ANY logs (carte, JAVA, arerror, plugins...) even on DEBUG MODE. We can just see the activity stopping without explanation.

The job is on Running state on UDM:ExecutionInstances.

We have monitored the JVM memory and cannot see any significant problem. On the graph, The job begin at 07h32 and at 07h34 we can see the freeze. Memory loading seems strange after that.

Impossible to stop it. It stay on stopping state. We are obliged to kill manually carte server.

This problem seems located only on this job at the moment. We ran some samples with BMC and others of our jobs without find any specific configuration problem.

Do you have some ideas for investigating? We are actually blocked on our migration planning beacause this job is mandatory to run our production.

        Thanks!

I see two issues in your job

          ERROR 22-03 13:50:25,494 - BGL:LoadPeople Output - Error in AROutput Step

ERROR 22-03 13:50:25,495 - BGL:LoadPeople Output - ERROR (306): Value does not fall within the limits specified for the field; (Field ID - BGL:LoadPeople <1000000023>, Maximum length - 50)

          as well as

ERROR 22-03 13:31:41,985 - AROutput Manager - Error in AROutput Step

          ERROR 22-03 13:31:41,985 - AROutput Manager - ERROR (8755): The specified plug-in does not exist.; BMC.FILTERAPI.NORM.ENGINE

You need to fix these errors.

            Hi Gustavo,

            ERROR 22-03 13:50:25,494 - BGL:LoadPeople Output - Error in AROutput Step

ERROR 22-03 13:50:25,495 - BGL:LoadPeople Output - ERROR (306): Value does not fall within the limits specified for the field; (Field ID - BGL:LoadPeople <1000000023>, Maximum length - 50)

I agree, this should be corrected. But internal files we receive contains sometimes some data problems and we adapt manually ourselves after the job report is analysed. Then this cannot cause hanging error but in worst case a job failure.

            This has been corrected.

We identified that activation of "fallback to single row commit if batch commit fails" on AR OUTPUT step cause the hang problem. Job is well success after removing this option. Problem is that this parameter is by default on each of our job and we are not really confiant for migration to 9.1.04. Other jobs have sometimes a hang too.

There is a defect at this level. I'm working with support on this ticket but is very very slow to and this is difficult to have a chance to fix this.

So are you saying that if you disable the fallback to single row commit the issue disappears and you see no longer hanging?

Have you tried using a commit size of 1 (instead of the default of 100) and then disabling the fallback?

                Hi Gustavo,

Yes, it does not hang anymore. It freeze too with commit at 1, on first commit.

                Still no reaction from support...
