Software Catalog blank and missing License Units under Software Inventory?

Good afternoon all, our site upgraded to 12.7 about a month ago and didn't have any issues after we re-configured the knowledge base, or at least we thought.

Working in Software License Management this week I notice that my old reports are pulling up missing data, specifically any column listing Licensed Unit now comes back empty.  Scanned Applications still populates just fine but Licensed Units are even missing from the Navigation Tree under Inventory:

On top of this, my software catalog is now blank and will not display any entries with affected devices selected or not.

      Any thoughts ladies and gents?

          CJ,

With the latest hotfixes and v12.7, BCM now uses the Flexera Software Catalog:

The previous data for the catalog is deleted and a new data set is downloaded.  You have tight security controls in place and you will need to set your Web Filters to allow the new URL to fetch the catalog.  I tried looking for the new URL in the logs and I was not able to find it using the default settings on the Master server logging (my Update Manager).  I am asking the development to provide that information so customers that must "allow" destination sites in their web filters to be able to configure those settings. Here is a screen shot of where you must go to initiate a download/update of the catalog:

Here is a filtered set of log info from my attempt to capture either IP, URL or FTP site:

Serena Lambiase, Could you please respond to Mr. Luce's request or does he need to contact support to get the information required?

CJ, you can also ask your security team to monitor the outbound request from your master server to ID the IP or URL destination address to allow the server to update.

I wanted to add that the new version of the Software catalog can help solve for the new licensing model that Microsoft and Adobe are using and how to ensure you are not counting TRIAL versions against your license count when using SLM module.

              Hi Steve,

We have recently applied latest patch to version 12.6 and moved on to new software catalog from Flexera. But I am seeing that my software catelog is empty. Even though I see that the Update manager is updated to latest version.

I am also seeing that we do not have the option to define what is the source of application while adding applications in Application list. Earlier we used to have option of adding application from wither software catalog or scanned application inventory. Now its giving only option to add application from Software inventory.

The new catalog does not populate the Application List any longer. Here is what is posted:

                Upgrade considerations

The following notices relate to the replacement of ExpressMetrix software catalog with the Flexera software catalog:

                • ExpressMetrix applications cannot be mapped with Flexera applications. After the master server is upgraded the Software Catalog inventory is purged to the BCM database.
                • If you are using the BMC Atrium CMDB integration:
                  • During the first import in the CMDB after master server is upgraded, all applications are regarded as new.
                  • Customers need to launch the  Delete Software job to delete the old entries, then the Reconciliation & Merge job and finally the Purge job.
                • After an upgrade the existing application lists with Catalog objects are automatically updated with the new Custom Applications.
You must manually update the Licensed Software linked to Software Catalog.
                • With the new software catalog, applications lists are now restricted only to Client Management objects. Catalog objects are no longer supported. For more information about application lists, see updates to Managing applications.
                • The suites have been removed from software catalog. It is possible to replace them with another item: application or license via a tool that can be launched from console dashboard or from Software catalog node.

You should contact support about you catalog not displaying any items even after you show completed pulling the new catalog.
