Have you confirmed the md5 sum of the file? Perhaps an error occurred on download/copy.
Is the "." at the end of the file a full stop or part of the file name?
Thanks for the update.
There is no "." character at the end of the file.
May I know how to confirm the md5 sum of the file.
You'll need the ADDM_OS_Upgrade_64_6.17.03.24_685777_ga.sh.gz and ADDM_OS_Upgrade_64_6.17.03.24_685777_ga.md5 files.
Assuming you're on a linux system (like the Discovery appliance), with both files in the same directory run:
[tideway@ee-64 upgrade]$ pwd
[tideway@ee-64 upgrade]$ ls -l
-rw-r--r--. 1 tideway tideway 80 Apr 20 17:00 ADDM_OS_Upgrade_64_6.17.03.24_685777_ga.md5
-rw-r--r--. 1 tideway tideway 718475530 Apr 20 17:00 ADDM_OS_Upgrade_64_6.17.03.24_685777_ga.sh.gz
[tideway@ee-64 upgrade]$ md5sum -c ADDM_OS_Upgrade_64_6.17.03.24_685777_ga.md5

Are you using the 'Chrome' browser? Sometimes it changes the filename extension during downloads, and this has been problematic with downloading Discovery OS upgrades as well as Discovery Product upgrades.
Try FireFox or IE or Opera to download the upgrades from BMC EPD.
