Was the device added successfully and then began displaying unknown? Also, could you please tell me what SNMP version you are using to poll the device - SNMP v1, v2 or v3.

Yes, the device was successfully added and then began displaying unknown. We are using SNMP v3.

The most likely cause of this problem is that you have two or more devices that are using the same SNMPv3 engine ID. All SNMP v3 devices must have unique engine IDs. Please check the SNMPv3 devices and insure that they are not using the same engine ID.
