The documentation I found on the use cases is: API use cases - BMC Remedy Action Request System 9.0 - BMC Documentation
- HPD:IncidentInterface_Create - to create or submit new incident
- HPD:IncidentInterface - to perform SEARCH,READ,UPDATE/MODIFY on existing incident
- CHG:ChangeInterface - to create change request
- CHG:ChangeInterface_Create - update and modify change request

On a side note... My team uses this same convention (creating both an Interface and Interface_Create form) in the custom applications we build.
Using these forms as an "API" integration point between different Remedy applications and external integrations (web services, email) has saved us quite a bit of trouble and gives us added integration-specific flexibility (such as performing configuration look ups. routing, data massaging that is not needed or normally happens when a user is in the UI). I suspect it is even going to help us adapt our apps to things coming out of the BMC Remedy Platform 9.5 Beta Program (Closed) (I may or may not have already done a small POC).
