I suggest you ignore the 9.0 release as the most of the major improvements to 9.0 were mooted by the major update done to the PATROL Agent to BPPM Server mechanisms in the 9.5 release. Changes in 9.6 are important details but relatively minor.
Are you using PATROL Agents for data collection with your BPPM 8.5 server or are you hanging on the the old ProactiveNet Agent? In either case you're in for major changes. The ProactiveNet Agent is all but gone from 9.5 and later while the PATROL Agent to BPPM data communications has been massively overhauled for the better.
