When you ran Audit.exe where was it located exactly? I know Audit.exe can crash if you don't run it from a location that also contains the TrackIt.Audit.dll so that's why I ask. Typically you run it directly from the Track-It! server share, but if you want to run it from a separate location you just have to make sure you also copy the TrackIt.Audit.dll into the same location.
As far as why the Audit Now process would fail with Software Push Failed, there are several possibilities. There is an article on the Kbase related to that error in particular.
The .DLL is the thing.
Once I copied over the Trackit.Audit.dll file I was able to execute agent.exe locally.
But still haven't figured out why the system rejects agent install from the Track-IT! server.
I've been working from an article regarding the agent found here
It's not possible to install the agent from the target server is it?

Actually, yes. Take a look at this Support article:
When the Software Push failed error appears, have you been able to uncover any of the associated details? Normally there is a more detailed error that goes along with it that you can view.
After a failed remote push, the "View Extended Information" window is blank.
A manual install, performed via the instructions in the article you linked, goes off without a hitch.
Ok, sometimes with domain controllers things act weird because of its unique configuration compared to standard domain member servers. That may be your only option to install the Agent.
