You might be knowing , there are two kinds of backup you can take one is VM level and second is ADDM snapshot method , it would be fine if you have dedicated server for backup because if you schedule a cron job within ADDM appliance then if something goes wrong then your backup also gone , so please make dedicated server for backup purpose then schedule a cron job , or use shell script method to automate process .

An important thing to be aware of is that it is not a good idea to use snapshot when services are running. This can interrupt things like open sessions which no longer exist if the snapshot is restored. This restriction is very important for clusters where you can end up with inconsistent state between datastores on different members of the cluster (as the snapshot does not take a single image of the complete cluster at a single instant in time).
Yes you are right Andrew , Snapshot sometimes it will fails, it would be fine for OS level cron backup into dedicated server.
Regarding this mather, if I want to automate my backup on a remote server and add a rotation on those so I only keep some copies, would you recommand making a script on my tideway server to manage my remote backup or should I manage it directly on the remote host?
I am asking because of the /usr/tideway/.ssh/README.ssh that doesnt recommand using adding ssh keys.
I don't really get why you mentions adding ssh keys here.
I would personally manage backups rotation on the server they resides on.
It was mostly for a security purpose so the password wouldn't be manually input as I run remote commands.
Although, thank you for your input on this subject !
