    Change Track-It password

      Share:|

Is the SQL Database password the same that can be changed in Change Database Password from within the Administrator Console?  I am rescuing an installation done about two years ago by a Numara Reseller.  I am initially tryng to perform a backup on the database but get an error message that might be related to the password!  Any help here?

Your log file indicates that you're trying to use a login of "Administrator".  I'd recommend for the backup that you use the Trackit80 account.  However, you can also use Sa, or any account with Sa level access or DBO level access.

Note that any login you use here needs to be an SQL login, NOT a Windows login.

If you use the Change Database Password in the Admin Console, that will only change the passwords for our database accounts:

          Trackit80

          TrackitApp

          TrackitRPT

          TrackitSecurity

It will not change any Sa or other passwords.

Our Change Database Password function also encrypts the selected password, and stores that encrypted value in the Core Data Access XML file and in the trackit.cfg file, so that the application can continue to log in with your new password.
