Chris McLane Feb 24, 2015 9:30 AM (in response to Pravindra Kumar)Yes. Essentially anything on the network that responds to a "ping" request could potentially be discovered. If, however, only the IP Address is found, that's not enough information for the application to actually add it to your Discovered assets list.

You can use Discovery to detect pretty much anything with a network presence. This Community post discusses Discovery in more detail, including what it can do and how it does it.

Brad McClave Feb 24, 2015 9:40 AM (in response to Pravindra Kumar)1 of 1 people found this helpfulIt does as long as you have discovery setup to validate SNMP and/or it's in an IP range to scan. The information you will get will be limited though depending on how much information you make available through SNMP so you may have to fill in some of the blanks.

Pravindra Kumar Feb 25, 2015 2:37 AM (in response to Brad McClave)Thanks Brad,
Actually I have tried to discover the assets using IP range. But it didn't discovered any Network Equipment(Routers,Hub etc). So what could be the reason.?
Thanks,
Pravindra
