In fact we had 2 server groups for performance only. One dedicated to users, one dedicated to backend process (escalation, assignement engine, recon, integrator)
So basicly, our users are only contacting first server (no load balancer).
BMC tell us to implement FTS server group and we read a lot of about HA but it's not what we want. HA is held by infrastructure design.
so as I understand we could just check "single server" and continue to work with first server in standalone mode for FTS ?
FTS can be set up as single server or multiple depending on the version, HA is a new feature introduced in the latest version allowing for full fail over capabilities in a Server Group. You can disable or enable the plugins through the configuration so if you only want one server then you would set this as Server Group Primary and enable the plugin whilst disabling the second server. Both servers would then utilise the configured plugin for FTS operations.
We've made change yersteday :
configure server1 in single server
disable FTS on server2 (not used by user)
collection content folder
restart both server
and not best as previously ... and support stop answering us or just re-ask same info at the begin of issue...
We finally found the solution. 2 months with bmc support
During the installation of servergroup, the knowledge source of incident management has been simply deleted. No idea why...
Go to knowlegde Management as admin=> Go to Manage Knowledge source => add the HPD:Helpdesk and eventually other forms required. Finish by reindexing.

We have recently upgraded our platform to 1805 patch 003. Its a server group with just 2 servers
Disabled FTS agent on 2nd server and just using 1 server as fts indexer in server group
I dont see any entry in the logs (fts or plugin)
And i see secondary folder on both the servers but no primary folder.
Any pointers ??
