Enable email engine debug log and see what is coming in the logs.
I hope user which is used for email engine configuration is having correct credentials?

Please tell us your environment detail as well. What is ARS version, OS Platform as well.
How did you configured the incoming email configuration?
Rest you can run email engine in debug mode as Rahul Priyadarshy mentioned and share the logs to identify the root cause.

In the AR system email mail box config form whether the incoming email template is "Enabled" ? .Can you please check with ARSystem Email Error logs form.
Please confirm if the AR Server is on UNIX/Linux
If that is the case .
Please check the .forward file and check if you have any Email ID set there.
Also you can paste here the .forward file.
Please check the Mailbox configuration for Incoming.
Also check if you are sending mail to correct "email server user".
Then check if the email id(who is sending mail) is configured in user/ people form for the user.
If it doesn't work. Try checking it in Email error logs for the mail.
A couple of items to check...
How have you configured the incoming mailbox? POP3, IMAP4, (for Windows) MAPI, (for Unix/Linux) MBOX
Since you say "using my email account" are you pulling the emails off the email server (with your email client) before the AR System Email Engine can poll the server? (What is the polling interval you are using?)
As stated above you can turn on the debug logs for the Email Engine to see what it is doing.
