    BCM CMDB integration issue

      Share This:

      Hi,

      as per the document i have installed the BCM (Asset core) CMDB integrator. but unable to fetch the data. below steps i have done.

      install Asset core CMDB integrator on CMDB installed system.

      changed the below parameter in FPAssetCoreConfig.properties (which is located on CMDB server)

      SQLDBOWNER=bcmdbuser

      SQLSCHEMAPREFIX=bcmdbuser.

      SOFTWARE_STATUS=

      HARDWARE_GROUPID=141

      SOFTWARE_GROUPID=

      the Hardware group id we found in asset core database after running the query which is mentioned in document.

      But still i am not getting CI information in CMDB.

      Regards

      Nitin

          Hi Nitin,

          I have done the integration for 11.7 and here are few things which I think you might wanna check

          1. What was the CMDB Jobs status ?

          2. GroupID basically represent a device group which is created in FPAC/BCM, make sure your device group has devices and inventories of these are uploaded properly.

          There might be other reasons too, but for now check above steps to make sure that you are not missing anything simple.

            Hi Vibhu,

            I have also done it with 11.7 but facing issue in version 12.0

            1. CMDB job status is successful but data not able to fetch

            2. for group id i was run query in BCM database & find the Group Id no.

            3. also i have checked the database owner name on both system (BCM & CMDB).

               on BCM database & Visin64database the owner name is bcmdbuser but after installing integrator on CMDB system      there i found the older name is present in FPAssetCoreConfig.properties i.e. facdbuser, so i have changed it as           bcmdbuser.

            after all above steps there is no luck

              Hi Nitin,

              I haven't got chance to check FPAssetCoreConfig.properties file for BCM and CMDB integration, so not sure why DB user was facdbuser. As far as I remember database user and password is required during installation and as your installation is successful, hopefully there is no DB connection issue.

              Anyway have you tried software data ? If not try it and lets see what is happening and try hardware data for any other device group

              Also what is the output of CMDB jobs, I mean is there any data is being created/updated.

              Regards

                Hi Vibhu,

                Thanks for the reply but let me know how we get software group id from database.

                I used below query to get  hardware group id

                select groupid from facdbuser.groups where GroupTypeID=101 and GroupName=’All Devices’

                for discovered device

                select groupid from facdbuser.groups where GroupTypeID=101 and GroupName=’Discovered Devices’

                Regards

                  Hi Nitin,

                  As I said groupid represent a particular device group. In your case you have used groupID for "All Devices". You can use the same groupID for both software and hardware.

                  To get the software data, make following changes and run the CMDB jobs again:

                  SOFTWARE_STATUS=‘Unidentified’

                  HARDWARE_GROUPID=141

                  SOFTWARE_GROUPID=141

                  Regards
