You mean you can't see any log-entry for that job on your server ?
That would be weird, as there definitely should be something in the Logs on the Job-Server that executes the work-item.
That’s right there are no entries in the appserver log for this job even at the time it has run successfully.
I believe there are two File Servers in this environment but only one Application Server not sure if that would have an effect on any log files.
What ?! 2 FileServers ?? U sure ?
Do other Jobs appear as expected in the Logs that you are looking at ?
Sorry i have to ask: These days, were the jobs aren't running are not Saturdays and Sundays, or ?
can you attach the appserver log(s) from when the job didn't run and indicate the name of the job ?
Ok – in that case there is probably only one file server which is separate to the application server.
The days the job didn’t run are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The server was rebooted last night and the job ran this morning (Friday).
I think I may wait and see if it runs on Monday.
There are entries in the log file for other jobs that have been run – but I think they might have been manual jobs and not scheduled jobs.
I can’t find another scheduled job in the log either.
I think I might keep an eye on this on a daily basis to see if I can find a pattern. If the problem continues I will log a call with BMC Support.
Thanks for replying Bill, but I would rather not attach the log files here.
Have you opened a support ticket? if not please do so and attach the logs there and post the issue number.
Aside from the appserver logs, what do you see for this job in the BSA UI? Do you see runs listed there for the successful runs? On the days when it did not run, do you see no entry at all or do you see a failure?
Were you able to confirm whether otehr scheduled jobs had the same problem or if it was confined to this one scheduled job?
