    FTS in Knowledge

    Fernando Negre

      Hi,

When I try to open the Search Knowledge in the incident Console I obtain this message: "It is required a Full Text Search License... (ARERR 692) "

So, I have added in the licenses "BMC Remedy Full Text Search". Also in the people form I have configurated the license Full text Search (Fixed).

After this I have restart the service BMC.

But when I again try to open the Search Knowledge, again appear the same message.

      What step Am I skipping?

      thanks

Can you show the armonitor.conf file and the "FTS" tab from Server Information?

It looks like you didn't install FTS when you installed ARS.

                Is there a "/ARSystem/pluginsvr/fts/" folder?

                  Yes. Laurent

But I still can not add an article. It says the message "visibility groups does not exists...(ARNOTE 170157) "

I have checked the user and the groups configurations and I have not found any relation data.

I don't get it, is that another problem?

Yes, I have installed FTS and now I need to add an article in the Knowledge. It says the message "visibility groups does not exists...(ARNOTE 170157) "

                        Ok

It's not an error actually, it's just a "notice", it tells who can see the article. It's different from a "group" or "support group".

So it's a reminder to tell you not to forget choosing one else nobody will see the article.

Did you choose a visibility group in the first place when you created the article?

In the article it's in the left menu "Links->Article visibility".

You can define those groups in the RKM console, link "Functions ->Manage Knowledge visibility groups".

(Perhaps the english names are different, I have a French version).

                        Edit:

I've put exact links in English.

                        Edit2:

                        Added a little explanation.

And about the article approval. I guess I have to approval each article or is it exist any general rule to approval ?? I have not found it .

                            Laurent Matheo

You can add a role using CTM:People form or define an approval chaining in the "Application Administrator Console->Custom Configuration->Knowledge management->Knowledge management approvals configuration".

Try just adding the role first.

But if I'm not mistaken, once you hit "publish approval" it should just do an "auto approval" by default" and go to "published".

You'll need to go back to the RKM console and open the article to see the change though.
