I likewise get the same error when trying to access midtier using IE 7. I also can use Firefox successfully. We are using Remedy 6.03. I get the error when trying to click on a case closure confirmation link. I also get it when trying to open any of the ARS web forms.
Sorry, forgot to mention before posting that I resolved the issue by resetting the IE defaults. I'm had previously tried clearing all cached items, which did not help. I'm not sure what configuration change may have caused this, as I was able to access only a few days ago.
In any event, resetting the defaults worked.
a. I was trying to access a form thro' its web link that I pasted in the address bar of my browser.
b. I am using:
1. BMC Remedy Mid-Tier 7.1
2. Tomcat 5.5.9 as my Web Server
3. Internet Explorer 7.x as my brower.
4. URL :
Resetting the IE browser does not work for me; I keep on getting the Error message.
However, I do not get the error when I use:
1. IE 6.x
2. The same Tomcat Web Server 5.5.9
3. The same URL
4. The same Widows XP Service pack 3.

I have no issues on other colleagues pcs. Recently done a clean rebuild on y pc - didnt help...

The problem was occured when the Internet Explorer was patched. I fixed by deploying another version of Internet Explorer.
Yes we have the known compatibility issues with the Internet Explorer.
We need to take care of version of the IE that is supported one.
