IBRSD with Remedy Security Encryption

Larry G

Hello,

We currently have the integration between IBRSD and Remedy working.  But we now need to enable the Remedy Security Encryption.  When we do this IBRSD can no longer talk to Remedy so it does not start.  Has anyone got this to work?

Thanks

    Hi Larry,

What are the versions you are working with of IBRSD and ARS?

    Hi Larry,

I was reading the premium encryption documention and it appears this may just be a simple library issue.  If the premium package is installed on ARS then there should be a Dll you can copy over to the ibrsd client lib directory.  The dll is something like arencrypt75.dll.  I would try copying this over to the ibrsd server and place in <ibrsd_home>/lib and restarting ibrsd to see if it takes the new libarary.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks Larry.

It may have something to do with the libraries that come with IBRSD.  On the client side you should see libraries like arencrypt*.dll.   It may be worth a shot to copy these libraries from the arsystem server over to the ibrsd library location.  I will look more internally at the documentation to understand further how this communication works.

Copying is just a thought but will try to put something more formal together for you.

Larry, Also, what level of security have you configured for ARS?

    See the following:

If the server uses BMC Remedy Encryption Standard Security, do not install

encryption. Standard Security is built into the AR System 7.5.00 API.
