How to delete an Article in Knowledge Management?

pueyo

I would like to know how to delete an article.

Days ago I exported a knowledge management article.

Now, I am trying to import the same article to the same environment.

As this article already exists in the environment, it appears an error telling me that I can not do it because ID's can not be duplicated.

In order to be able to import this article, I would like to know how to delete it from the environment. ¿Is this possible?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

It would be available in left side navigation->f functions section

Delete Article—Displayed only for In Progress articles and for articles

    with no life cycle.

From here you can delete the article.

It goes perfectly well!! Many thanks Sam!

But it has appear another problem. It is in relation to exporting an article.

Following the exporting article steps, the created file (the exported one) does not show  the QUESTION, ANSWER and TECHNICAL NOTES information (the content tab).

So, when I imported this document to the environment it does not appear this important information.

    How can I do it?

I have attached a file withthe information I would like to export (and it does not).

    Thanks in advance,

    Pilar

    Hi,

if you are importing article to another arserver pls make sure below steps...use data import tool

Importing articles to the target server

There are two ways to import data (knowledge articles):

You can use Data Management when the source server is not a BMC Remedy AR System server. For more

    information, see Data Management.

You can use BMC Remedy Data Import to import data from one BMC Remedy AR System source server to

another server. This procedure requires that you log in with Administrator permissions.

To import articles to an .arx file using BMC Remedy Data Import

Create a new mapping file to import the source forms as follows:

Select the .arx file that contains the source records, for example, RKM_HowTo.arx.

    Select the target server.

Select the BMC Remedy AR System form that is the target form name, for example,

    RKM:HowToTemplate.

    Select the Options tab.

Update the Number of Records per Transaction, as required.

Select Handle Duplicate Request IDs By > Replace Old Record with New Record.

Select Match Duplicate Request By > Custom Fields.

    Add the GUID 179 field.

    Note

The field name might be different but the field ID must be 179.

    Start the import.

Create a mapping file to import the KAM forms as follows:

Select the .arx file that contains the RKM:KnowledgeArticleManager data records.

    Select the target server.

Select RKM:KnowledgeArticleManager as the target form name.

Select the Options tab and perform the following steps:

Update the Number of Records per Transaction, as required.

Select Handle Duplicate Request IDs By > Replace Old Record with New Record.

Select Match Duplicate Request By > Custom Fields.

    Add the FK_GUID (302301020) field.

    Start the import.

I have not done yet such import export of articles as such..may these steps help you..or you can start new discussion to have an expert comment

Hey Pilar, another way to delete articles, regardless of their status, is via the RKM:KnowledgeArticleManager form - login with an Administrative user, you can then search for your article and use the AR User Tool 'Delete' option from the Menus. It won't however delete orphan records such as relationships and visibility group association records.

    Hope this helps!

p.s. Be sure to click 'Helpful Answer' or 'Correct Answer' is this is of use.

    Thanks both of you!

Sam, I've tried that and it does not work properly, as all the information is exported except the QUESTION, ANSWER and TECHNICAL NOTES fields. I can't understand why...

Sergeant, I will try to do it also in that way!
