No the Target extended object is not Database dependent.
THe disa Extended objects work well/without errors when i run the DISA Compliance template as a whole without modifying. this only happens if i copy rules from DISA to a new template and import dummy Extended objects and rename it to the required EO
its pretty confusing because the EO GEN001500 does not have this problem but GEN002000 and a few others have this problem
Here is how i did it . I clicked the + sign on the parts tab and added "AIX configuration" EO from an AIX target and renamed it to "BL-LXO DISA AIX STIG GEN002000 Check" and then ran the compliance.
Is this the right way ? or how please tell me how to add "BL-LXO DISA AIX STIG GEN002000 Check" to my newly created template
thanks a lot
When you click on parts tab and add it as part , you have toexpand the “Local Extended Object” in which the same EO will appear that youhave created in the template.
That EO needs to beadded . Also please check that all the settings of local extended object arematched exactly same with the one added in DISA template. Make sure that youhave checked “central Execution” checkbox.
There is the catch.. When i want to ADD Disa's EOs I dont see them in the local EO list. So I added a DUmmy EO "AIX configuration" in the parts and then later rename it to "BL-LXO DISA AIX STIG GEN002000 Check"
Now i think that is the problem.. I am also not able to get to the local properties of the 0022000 EO. its not there in Local EO's
Or is there a way to it?
How do you normally Copy one EO from one to another template?
Surpirsingly 001500 sems to work the same way as described in this post.
Guys,, As i typed my previous post i kinda Answerd My self .
Based on what Nirav and Bill said.,
It was so dumb of me not to have a local copy of the EO form the DISA template
SO what i did was
open Disa>Local EO> Copy the Commands on the Page
Open my template > Create new local EO and paste those commands in
KABOOM.. it worked..
ANd i am still surpirsed why 001500. will figure it out.. but yes thanks for making me think.
