Web portal: how to disable or suppress features

We're currently implement trackit for our organisation and will be using the web self service portal.

The web service is active, but access for users is currently disabled. However If a user attempts to conenct to the URL they can see: "My Requests For Change". Can we disable this? (and/or preferably just dispaly the self service home page?)

Once we launch and enable access, I have also been asked if certain pages/features can be disbled or suppressed.

For example "Search for solutions" or "My Assets". We're planning a phased launch and developing, implementing and releasing features. We'd prefer these are not visible until we're ready to release them.
