1. Storage Discovery in ADDM8.3
Brice-Emmanuel LoiseauxMay 24, 2012 5:58 AM (in response to Ritu NameToUpdate)
The server portion of storage discovery has been improved in 8.3, with our discovery of HBA cards being deepened and extended.
We'll address the SAN side of storage in a further version of ADDM.

2. Storage Discovery in ADDM8.3
Ritu NameToUpdate May 24, 2012 6:29 AM (in response to Brice-Emmanuel Loiseaux)Hi
Can you please elaborate a little more on Server portion of storage discovery.
Is it somewhat related to like, if I had mapped a part of storage on my Server then ADDM will be able to detect that part of storage?
Thanks in advance
Ritu

I am not sure to get your question.
For information about 8.3 implementation of HBA (Host Bus Adaptor) cards see HBA section of New in this version page, HBA Information section of Viewing a host and Fiber Channel Nodes pages. File System Node page also helps.

4. Re: Storage Discovery in ADDM8.3
Randy Jenkins Apr 16, 2013 9:08 AM (in response to Ritu NameToUpdate)Since we're in the Dark Ages at ADDM 8.3 from a Storage Discovery perspective, is there any intel on processes by which Storage Data are imported via CSV into the "Storage" and "StorageCollection" nodes within ADDM 8.3? Taking a cursory look at the taxonomy, this feat doesn't appear to be especially difficult. Further, relating the "Host" nodes to "Storage" nodes via the HBA discovery of WWN's would no doubt be a boon to pretty much anyone with more than 1TB of spinning disk.
It's a little like creating a mnemonic memory circuit using stone knives and bear skins at the moment. -

Bashar Sawaked Apr 24, 2013 4:23 AM (in response to Ritu NameToUpdate)As far as I know, ADDM does not support storage discovery,
maybe you can customize something with SNMP access
Kind regards
