What this command is for? what will be the impact of running this commanad on production server??
The is no impact as such. The command will return the type of machine in use. The values returned will have the below meaning:
- 0 (0x0)
- 1 (0x1)
- 2 (0x2)
- 3 (0x3)
- 4 (0x4)
- 5 (0x5)

- 6 (0x6)
- 7 (0x7)
- 8 (0x8)
I ran the command,but it is throwing an error "Invalid query"
Ok. try to run the below command for chassis type:
wmic systemenclosure get chassistypes
Does this return invalid query as well.
It is giving an output as:
Chassis Type 1 is not a definitive chassis type as per the below description by Microsoft, so it is not inventoried:
Ok ,so what should we consider the type of that machine?

We have witnessed chassis type 1 returned for virtual machines, but it may vary.
Does it mean, there is no as such confirmed type for those machines ,which does not show the machine type?
