1. Unable to retriveVMware Distributed Components in BBSA
Prabhat Handoo May 14, 2012 5:14 AM (in response to Nitin Murkute)what do you have in the BUILD_ENVIRONMENT property? If its blank or not correct, run a USP job first against this target, populate the property and then run the job again.
Hope it helps.

2. Unable to retriveVMware Distributed Components in BBSA
Umar Shaikh May 14, 2012 5:14 AM (in response to Nitin Murkute)Which version of BSA is this for? Is the server detected as a vCenter server or a Windows server in BSA? What Virtualization properties have to updated and what have they been set to?
Can you also post output of agentinfo for the vCenter server here?

Nitin Murkute May 14, 2012 5:31 AM (in response to Prabhat Handoo)Hi Prabhat/Umar
Thanks for your quick reply.
The Property BUILD_ENVIRONMENT contains valus as Windows2003x-86_64.
Also, I have already run the USP job. and tried it as well.but still facing the same problem.
@Umar,
My BBSA version is 8.1.02.250.My VC server is detected as Windows Server in BSA.
I have created the Instance for the Connection class and map the same in Virtualization in System Property.

Nitin, please check the agent installed is VC agent ,as your machine is detected as Windows box. If it a VC agent box then you don’t have to manually create the Virtualization and connection PSI.

5. Re: Unable to retriveVMware Distributed Components in BBSA
Nitin Murkute May 14, 2012 6:21 AM (in response to Nitin Murkute)Hi Friends,
Thanks for your support to all of you.
I am getting the error no applicable classes were found for VC server in BSA.
I think it may be because of version of VC Server.I am using VC 5.0.0.x.
When I triedto add VC server of version 4.1.x then my DCO job runs suceesfully.
But if I am using VC of Version 5.0.0.x the it shows me the error as no classes were found for VC server.
Will it be the error because of Version of VC 5.0.0.x.
is it because VC 5.0.0.x may not contains the VMWare classes for BSA.
but the same contains for the version 4.x.?
Thanks and Regards,
Nitin

6. Unable to retriveVMware Distributed Components in BBSA
Prabhat Handoo May 14, 2012 9:00 AM (in response to Nitin Murkute)I am not sure about the compatabilty level of the VC, others may help. Or you could check with BMC Support. I have seen this to be an issue if the BUILD_ENVIRONMENT value is incorrect or absent.

Bill RobinsonMay 14, 2012 9:28 AM (in response to Prabhat Handoo)
Does the version of the agent on the VC match the version of the appserver?
This version of bsa should have vcenter 5 support.

Prabhat Handoo May 15, 2012 1:35 AM (in response to Nitin Murkute)Vcenter 5 is supported starting 8.1 sp2. It could be a problem with that as well.

10. Re: Unable to retriveVMware Distributed Components in BBSA
Nitin Murkute May 15, 2012 4:18 AM (in response to Prabhat Handoo)Hi Friends,
I am using VCServer 5.0.X and BBSA 8.1 SP2
Whether VCServer 5.0.x is supportable for BSA 8.1.?
Because my ESXi version is also 5.0.x which can be managed by VC Server 5.x only.
But BSA 8.1 may not support the VC Server 5.0.x.
What could be the resoluton for that?
Thanks in Advance...................

11. Re: Unable to retriveVMware Distributed Components in BBSA
Nitin Murkute May 15, 2012 5:40 AM (in response to Nitin Murkute)1 of 1 people found this helpfulHi Friends,
We have resolved the issue.
This issue is occured because VC server has regular RSCD agent installed which does not contains
BMC_VMware_VirtualInfrastructureManager_win64 classes.
The VC server must have the RSCD agent install which is specifically designated for VMWare VC Server.
which contains above VMWare classes.
Now the BBSA is identifying the VMWare VC Server Properly.
Thanks to everyone for your valuable support
Regards,
Nitin

Rohit Patwi May 15, 2012 5:50 AM (in response to Nitin Murkute)Hi Nitin,
We have also stuck on the same issue while performing POC for CLM Install Planner. Yes, we have to use the Windows Agent VC for BSA to manage the VC server, as it installs with VMware_VirtualInfrastructure Manager classes, specially used for VC server.
Thanks and Regards,
Rohit
