    Unable to see hardware information

      Hi,

       

      I am not able to see hardware information in a solaris box. And also when im click on the hardware information tab then my GUI is stuck.

          What version of BL is this? Is the issue happening only for the h/w information? Can you browse the servers and run agentinfo against this?

           

          What is the agent version on the solaris box? Can you send rscd.log from the problematic server?

            Solution

            PROBLEM
            Live->Hardware Information->Hardware->Storage Devices->Logical Storage Devices is empty on Solaris Global Zone.

             

            CAUSE
            The SysInfo utility which is packaged and distributed with the RSCD Agent to collect the data under the Hardware Information section reports this as a Known Issue:

             

            Class Hardware Issues
            Hardware data not reported on Solaris in a Zone/Container
            Hardware class data is not reported when SysInfo™ is run inside of a Solaris Container/Zone. This is due to Solaris not providing access to the required data. Numerous Solaris commands like prtdiag(1M) also have the same issue.

            I see that you opened ISS03848217 with BMC customer support. Is this issue related to ISS03848217 ?

              And BL version--8.0

               

              This issue is occur only in H/W information.

                Please see the KB article and I believe the issue no that I referred, you were given a solution. Hasn't either of the solutions helped you?

                    If I understand correctly, clicking on hardware information hangs the console and it doesnt come up with any information. Correct me if I am wrong here. Do it this way:

                     

                    on the SDCDBSRV09 server, via ssh, run the command: /opt/bmc/BladeLogic/8.0/NSH/nativetool/bin/sysinfo

                    and send the o/p

                     

                    Once done, then from the appserver, run

                    nexec SDCDBSRV09 /opt/bmc/BladeLogic/8.0/NSH/nativetool/bin/sysinfo

                     

                    And send the o/p.

                        I wonder why are you getting the "You are running a free 30-day DEMO version of our sysinfo product" error.

                         

                        Can you try nexec SDCDBSRV09 /opt/bmc/BladeLogic/8.0/NSH/nativetool/bin/sysinfo from the appserver and paste the results?

                                Vipin,

                                I think this is a problem with sysinfo on the target server. But I see the following error

                                TLS setup failed for

                                agent: _net_bind_finish_ssl failed.  Exiting and terminating connection

                                 

                                 

                                I want to rule out the possibilty of this causing an issue. Can you paste the contents of the secure file from the problematic target server?
