In FP11 is there a way of uploading a CSV file (or any other file) into a pair of dynamic linked dropdown lists.
We have Area and Section data which is mastered in another system that we want to import on a semi-regular basis into dropdown options in FootPrints.
Unfortunately there is no way to upload choices for a field in version 11. However, I know this has been requested before and is being reviewed by our product development and management teams for possible inclusion in a future release.

Mike, can you tell me how drop down dynamics are stored in 9.5.4? Is there a flat file? Is it the same in v11?

In versions prior to 11, FootPrints stored values in the Schema file in the FootPrints\db\MASTERx\MR directory. In version 11, the entire form is stored in a table in the database called FBLayout.

This would be a much welcomed feature to implement in the future.
As it is not possible to insert the data is there a way to populate fields based on a data extract from another database?
Although you cannot upload the choices, when you press the link to add choices, you can simply paste choices in from a text file separated by newlines into the area where choices are added.
I'm not sure if you saw my previous reply direct to your original post. Although we do not have upload in FP 11, we can copy and paste a list of choices from a text file to add them to a choice field.
