That solution looked a little complicated...
I would do it with THREE FLTR:s and one tmp-char-field in addition to $field$ where I have the original data:
Execution order: 321
Action 1: Set-Fields: tmp = $field$
Action 2: Set-Fields: field = $NULL$
FLTR "copy first character if digit"
Execution order: 322
Run If: ('tmp' LIKE "[0-9]%")
Action 1: Set-Fields: field = $field$ + LEFTC($tmp$, 1)
FLTR "do a loop if two or more characters left"
Execution order: 323
Run If: ('tmp' LIKE "__%")
Action 1: Set-Fields: tmp = SUBSTRC($tmp$, 1)
Action 2: Goto 322
The only cryptic thing might be the ... LIKE "__%" that will make sure to run this if there are two or more characters in the field.
