Jonathan Coop Apr 24, 2012 7:06 AM (in response to Michael Elleby III)You MUST install the unix KM on the console as well, when you downloaded unix agent there should have strangely been a zip file, use this with windows installer, and you will be able to add the Unix KM. Jon

Hello Michael,
Is the KM preloaded ? I'd suggest looking at the agent error log and SOW.
Cheers,
John

4. Patrol Agent not registering in Console
Michael Elleby III Apr 24, 2012 8:12 AM (in response to John Gallagher)Trying to look at the agent error log now. So would you be saying that the KM is not being 'pre-loaded' during the installation? I've installed other agents on the same platform and not had this issue.

It's been a while but I don't think so. Have a look at your /AgentSetup/preloadedKMs configuration variable and check for messages in the system output window and agent error log, you should find something there.

Michael Elleby III Apr 24, 2012 12:47 PM (in response to John Gallagher)Looked at the logs, and it looked like the console was attempting to use my personal ID in the operator Console when I went to add the server instead of using the patrol/pswd combination I created on the server where I installed the agent:
I then deleted the agent from the console and re-added it ONCE AGAIN, using the right credentials (patrol/pswd) and in the log I saw the following:
However in the console, I'm still seeing the same thing for the agent:

1. You interested only about "red dots" inside Event Management KM's parameters or any others within UNIX3.kml (specify them)? If first, it's normal. Each parameter: AgentLoginDenied, AlertTest, etc.. obtains the values only if configured or in some special situations. For example, if you attempt to login to PATROL Agent (PA) with incorrect username/password, in that case parameter AgentLoginDenied goes into ALARM.
2. If you want to see parameters from UNIX KM, you need load (not only installing) into PATROL Classic Console KM list 'UNIX3.kml'. In some cases, is needed 'Breack Connection/Update Connection'
3. In 'System Output WIndow' of a problem PA, run command and show me results:
%DUMP_KM_LIST

1 of 1 people found this helpfulThe logs show that the KM is loading at the agent level. Do you have the same KM version at the agent/Console level ? What's showing in your System output window now ? Also, what flavour/version of UNIX are you using and can you telnet into the box using the patrol agent account ? Did you install using the Patrol account or root ? ( should be patrol.)

Not sure why cut and paste is not working, but it does look like none of the KM's are loading... I may remove and re-install this PA.

According to your screenshot, the KM's are loading at the agent level.

Michael Elleby III Apr 25, 2012 6:28 AM (in response to John Gallagher)LOL, ok. Let me revise my answer.
I misread the output. I was looking at the static column in the output and saw 'no' for all the KMs for the UNIX monitoring. However, they still do not show up appropriately in my console window.
So, still, there is something wrong somewhere. lol..

Garland Smith Apr 25, 2012 6:30 AM (in response to John Gallagher)What do you get when you run %DUMP KM_LIST? Maybe that's answered previously.
If the KMs are loaded on the Agent and Classic console, that should be all that's required
for the console to access the KMs.

No in the static column means they are not set to pre-load.
