What are the filters in your catalog?
Is this a normal MS patch?
If you want to just deploy it, just download it from ms, upload it as a hotfix object and deploy.

Will Rodina May 2, 2012 9:11 AM (in response to Rob Slattery)We are seeing this issue as well.
This is not a normal patch/security bulletin that would show up in the patch catalog. You will need to download the hotfix and package it separately, then use a deploy job to roll it out to your servers.

6. Terminal Service Hotfix (MS12-024 patch issues)
Rob Slattery May 3, 2012 11:56 AM (in response to Bill Robinson)The hotfix, I noticed, is nothing more than an executable (WindowsServer2003-KB958476-x86-ENU.exe). May I just add this as a regular BLPackage, a system package or do I have to do it as a Hotfix?
The hotfix option is what I thought I'd pursue but it asks for a patch key which I have no idea where to retrieve or even what it is.

You can add it as anything that works.. I thought you could still add individual hotfixes w/o having to tie them to anything.

8. Terminal Service Hotfix (MS12-024 patch issues)
Joe Piotrowski May 3, 2012 4:01 PM (in response to Bill Robinson)I have an empty Windows Patch Catalog with all filters added that I use for testing purposes. Interestingly, I can find quite a few Hotfix patch binaries when I search for the BULLETIN_ID = MS12-024. But I can find no reference to that KB958476 (QNUMBER contains 958476). I wonder if that particular KB has been superceded by another?
And as Bill said, you can add it to your Depot and deploy that executable any number of ways. I tend to open similar packages (like Hotfixes added to the Depot) to see how BBSA does it and what install/uninstall strings they use for deploying patches.

9. Terminal Service Hotfix (MS12-024 patch issues)
Stein Morten Petersen May 3, 2012 4:24 PM (in response to Will Rodina)Hi.
This might be a bit off, but do you know how I could add this to the depo as a Hotfix with dependency linked to the two service packs and the preceeding hotfix from the original article. I would only install this private fix onto a system that met the prereqs for the hotfix.

10. Terminal Service Hotfix (MS12-024 patch issues)
Rob Slattery May 8, 2012 10:00 AM (in response to Bill Robinson)Thanks, Bill. I just added the file as a BLpackage deploy, and everything worked out fine.

11. Terminal Service Hotfix (MS12-024 patch issues)
Rob Slattery May 8, 2012 10:02 AM (in response to Stein Morten Petersen)I was not able to add it as a hotfix because it was asking for some sort of product key. Maybe, if Microsoft created the "hotfix" as a Hotfix and not just an update (at least that's what it looks like to me), the add as hotfix through BladeLogic would have worked.
