error trying to search knowledge in RKM 7.6.03

Hi,

 

Has anyone seen this error message when trying to search for kb articles in RKM 7.6.03. Brand new itsm 7.6.03 install on windows 2003 with sql 2005. The plugin server is running, and the ar.cfg file has the correct entry for the fts plugin.

 

 

Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System Plug-In server :
ARSYS.ARF.FTS (ARERR 8760)

 

Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System Plug-In server :
w2k3 (9998) : RPC: Miscellaneous tli error - System error (Connection refused) (ARERR 8760)

 

 

I also get error messages in arerror.log file.

    I am also getting this in 7.6.04

     

    It was working for almost an entire day and now all of a sudden when I "Search Knowledge" from a New Incident I get a similar prompt

     

    Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System Plug-In server :

    ARSYS.ARF.FTS (ARERR 8753)

    This seems to be related to either a Customer not being set or a "Proposed" customer attempting to be used.  Haven't pinpointed exactly what is causing it but I think it has something to do with the Incident record as the global search and search knowledge pages both seem to work fine.

     

    I think it actually has to do with the value in the "Summary" field.  Seems if there is a"-" or a space even it is causing this error.

    Looks like AR System issue (FTS is an AR technology)

     

    Please work with support, they are very skilled at troubleshooting such issues.

    Even I'm getting the same error in 7.6.03,is this resolved or still you have this issue.Infact i have posted this issue in the community and waiting for the help.I believe you can help me with the issue which I'm facing with RKM.

    I’m facing some serious issue with search functionality in RKM,As per my understanding FTS is a pre-requisite for RKM 7.6.03 and If RKM 7.6.03 is already installed, then FTS is also installed. I have licensed FTS and configured it by updating the collection and configuration directory path under the FTS tab in server information page and also restarted the server after all these updation. After this restart I’m getting an error “390602 : FTS Plugin is not available -- will retry connection. (ARERR 685)”. I have couple of doubts also

     

    1.       How can we verify that FTS is already installed ?

    2.       Without FTS can we install RKM

    3.       FTS tab is enabled in the server info page after licensing FTS, is this normal or will it happen only if FTS is installed?

    4.       The error ARERR 685 means " The full text search plug-in is not responding. Check with your AR System administrator to verify the status of the plug-in server" what does it mean?

     

    and now am getting the below error as soon as i open the knowledge searh.

     

    Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System Plug-In server :
    ARSYS.ARF.FTS (ARERR 8760)
    Cannot establish a network connection to the AR System Plug-In server :
    blrvqarsapp01 (9998) : RPC: Miscellaneous tli error - An event requires attentionError 0 (ARERR 8760)

    Did you ever resolve this issue? I am also seeing the same problem following installation of a 7.6.04 SP2 Preconfigured Stack.

    I copied the file pluginsvr_config.xml  from another Remedy Dev server (ARSystemInstallDir\pluginsvr\fts ) to ARSystemInstallDir\pluginsvr\fts and fixed the issue.

    Hi,

     

    thank you. I replaced he plugin-file and everything worked.

    My problem was, that in RKM 7.6.04 the Search didnt worked - my received errors:


    ARSYS.ARF.FTS (ARERR 8760)
    RPC: Miscellaneous tli error - Systemerror (Connection refused) (ARERR 8760)

    You need to make sure that the AR server is licensed for FTS before installing RKM. It looks like the problem is with the FTS configuration.Check the xml file from the FTS folder,Check ftsplugin7603_build002.jar file exists in the FTS location ,Check arfts & arftsplugin log files are created under the DB folder.

    Check armonitor.cfg file have FTS entry in there or not.

    This looks like an issue with server name or something in the .xml then.

    Check that the server mentionned in the xml file is correct, or informations.

    Has anyone - which replace this file from another server - compare this files? (this wrong and this right?). What is the difference?

    Try to delete the Contentent folder under BMC Software\ftsconfiguration\Collection. Do not delete the folder, just whatever under the folder. Then to AR System Administration and under FTS Tab clcik on Re-index. Let it run for awhile and the KM search will work.
