This is completely doable though federation with a CMDBf compliant adapter or via other means such as web services or the new Atrium Integrator.
Atrium Integrator (AI) could be use for the integration. In fact, we're currently working on developing pre-packaged integrations for AI for common scenarios. One of the areas will be HP uCMDB and you should be hearing more about it shortly, schedule is still pending but targeted for this CY.
In the meantime, if timing is an issue, AI could of course be used now to create mappings to HP uCMDB, there is some additional effort to create the mappings..
Our vision is to use the simple, wizard-based approach of AI to create fast, prepackaged integrations to common discovery, CMDB, and other data sources.
This can apparently be acheived using HP's Atrium Push Adaptor. Further detail on this can be found on page 781 ->794 of the HP UCMDB - Discovery and Integration Content Guide (v 9.02).
We are only just starting to investigate this, so I'll keep you posted on our progress.
Yes, HP has a offering that is a bi-directional adapter for uCMDB to Atrium CMDB integrations. We plan to offer one shortly as a pre-packaged offering for Atrium Integrator.
Hi John, do you know when "shortly" might be ?
With our next release which is in the fall. I'll keep you posted, the project is just kicking off now. Let me know any details of requirements you might have (i.e. types of CI's, etc.)
is it likely this same piece of work would allow integration between Atrium and Hp DDMi? (previously enterprise discovery)
Is the package ready to integrate BMC CMDB to common discovery? Will this same package allow integration between Atrium CMDB 7.6.04 and Hp DDM-I? If not, please guide as I am in need to integrate CMDB 7.6.04 to HP DDM-I and guide on how to do data mapping between these discovery datasets.
I want this too... so so very much!
Please advise, I am struggling to get integration between DDM-i and Atrium CMDB 7.6.04. If you can guide me on the best practice approach to follow, that would be really appreciated.
Hi Raghuveer, BMC is building integration adapter that will integrate HP uCMDB with Atrium CMDB. Its imperative that DDMI users will have uCMDB (or option for uCMDB installation). Also uCMDB may have data consolidated from different sources than DDMI alone. Hence we are building this integration at HP uCMDB level and not with HP DDMI directly. Hope this helps. Thanks, Rahul PM, Atrium Core BMC Software

This HP UCMDB to Atrium CMDB adapter was released early this year. This adapter was successfully implemented at customer site recently and few others are in process of roll out.
Quick highlights of this adapter,
- Unidirectional integration from HP UCMDB to Atrium CMDB
- Atrium Technology for Integration
- Atrium Integrator
- Technology for integration with HP UCMDB
- Java API and Webservices
- Compatible with
- BMC Atrium CMDB 7.6.04 (and above) and HP UCMDB 8 or 9
Let me know for any additional information.
Thanks for the update Rahul. We're looking to push from Atrium to the uCMDB, are there any plans for bi-directional updates?
