2. Developer Studio 7.6.04 SP1 field label text length problem
Juan Manuel Fraga Jun 28, 2011 4:21 PM (in response to Vincent Riedweg)Thanks for your reply vriedweg, i forgot to mention that no windows configurations resolved the problem. I've tried quite a few;
- Followed vriedweg's steps.
- Changed screen resolution, just to get blurry display.
- Changed Win7's default font and font size.
- Manually set different ppi settings for the text.
- Even tried out turning ClearType off
I'm about to uninstall DevStudio 7.6.04 SP1 and then install 7.6.04 with no SP. I'll post here the results. Thanks again for your kind help vriedweg, see you around!
Juanma.

4. Developer Studio 7.6.04 SP1 field label text length problem
Vincent Riedweg Jun 28, 2011 4:53 PM (in response to Juan Manuel Fraga)Hi,
On the AST form of the parent class, do you have that display issue?
If not, have you tried to regenerate the form using the AssetUI utility from SHR:ShemaNames?
Vincent.

5. Developer Studio 7.6.04 SP1 field label text length problem
Juan Manuel Fraga Jun 29, 2011 1:36 AM (in response to Vincent Riedweg)Thanks again Vincent, but the problem occurs in every form. That AST: from the image was just an example. I've tried DevStudio 7.6.04 with no patch and the problem is still there. I'm uninstalling it right now to reinstall with the 32bit JRE setting... My last try...

6. Re: Developer Studio 7.6.04 SP1 field label text length problem
Juan Manuel Fraga Jun 30, 2011 3:35 PM (in response to Juan Manuel Fraga)Nope, nothing changed. I googled known errors for this concrete model, but found nothing. msi gt683r, with branded Win7 install. I may try to reinstall the OS with a new clear one, but the funny thing is that the only software that displays wrong is Developer Studio...

8. Re: Developer Studio 7.6.04 SP1 field label text length problem
Juan Manuel Fraga Jun 29, 2011 9:19 AM (in response to Vincent Riedweg)Yep, the problem is common to every form i open. Some more new points:
- Developer displays perfectly when running from our dev server through Win7 remote desktop.
- It works perfect as well via Win2003 vmware running on my compu.
--edit-- But the client will not display well if i launch it from my OS. I've tried to connect to several servers, it's not a server problem... Must be something about my screen or my MSI branded Win7... --edit--
Thanks again for your help!
Juanma.

10. Developer Studio 7.6.04 SP1 field label text length problem
Juan Manuel Fraga Jan 23, 2012 1:18 PM (in response to Guruprasad Balachandra)Nope, i think it's something with my Win7, i guess it comes with some annoying branded factory presets and it seems i'll need a fresh "clean" OS install to get rid of this font size nonsense.
Now i've got a WinXP virtual machine running in the same compu and it displays everything perfectly sized, so it's not really a problem anymore. At least it's not a physical display problem! I updated nvidia drivers too a couple of weeks ago but the problem persists.
I've been searching google over and over, but haven't found anything related to this problem and my laptop or brand. It would be really nice to find a way to fix this without needing vmware or reinstalling Windows...
Thanks for your answer!

11. Developer Studio 7.6.04 SP1 field label text length problem
Peter Romain Mar 14, 2012 1:44 PM (in response to Juan Manuel Fraga)1 of 1 people found this helpfulI had the same problem with Windows 7 on a 64 bit Dell Precision M4500 laptop.
I copied all the fonts from a Windows 2008 system (contents of the c:\windows\fonts directory) to the fonts in the Windows 7 system (also the c:\windows\fonts directory) without overwriting any that already existed.
The problem has now gone away.
