Check with your sales rep. and ask for a roadmap from product management.
Exactly, but I don't know if the sales rep knows anything about the BMC Patrol product.
I'm working at a bank and we rely on the old-fashioned products called PatrolAgent.
But soon, we will deploy Solaris 11, and I would like to know if BMC is going to support solaris in the future or do I need to find other vendors that do support Solaris ?
Usually, the answers on this forum is much better than any BMC sales rep:-)
Plans for new features, support for new OS versions, etc... are in the
domain of Product Management.
Anything posted on this forum is not official and is purely speculative. I
would suggest to have
your sales rep. contact product management to get the answer about plans
support for Solaris 11.
I'll wait for the next release and hope Solaris 11 will be supported.
For a long time, Solaris and MS Windows servers has been very well supported by BMC, but since Oracle took over Sun, most of the ISV vendors I work with has stopped supporting Solaris. I was hoping BMC wasn't going to drop the support for Solaris.
But time will show.
I don't believe there are any plans to drop support for Solaris. We
generally add support for new OS
versions within 6 months or so of the new release. However, the decision to
add support for new OS
versions is made by product management. One thing you might consider is to
open a Request For
Enhancement to support Solaris 11.
