1. Re: BMC Remedy ITSM Suite Preconfigured Stack Installer - Needs fine Tuning
Wallace Roets Jan 21, 2013 1:29 AM (in response to Wallace Roets)- BMC Remedy ITSM Suite Preconfigured Stack Installer 7.6.04 for
- Microsoft Windows 2008 (64 bit) on Microsoft SQL 2008 and on Oracle 11g
- Stack Installer can only be installed with ARS Port Mapper. In Windows you need to unininstall the Microsoft Port mapper (if it is installed) first due to conflicting port numbers and thus not compatible with the ARS. (Knowledge Article 354474)
- Delta Data Migration - Is not working, it complains that tls71012dXP_NET_9.dll is missing. After I've fixed this (Can also be fixed by changing the 'Environment Variable' - PATH so it includes the migrator installed directory path), I get another error "Migrator Application Directory was not found". This should be fixed after updating the 'migrator-dir' variable in the configuration.xml file as per the DDM White Paper (Page 20)
- CMDB Federated Interface all point to server: SJC-W28VM-AR01 (BMC.CORE.CONFIG:BMC_FederatedInterface)
- BMC Atrium Impact Simulator Global Preferences points to server: vw-sjc-sas-sp03.labs.bmc.com (AIS:GlobalPreferences)
- CAI - Command Automation Interface form points to server: vw-sjc-sas-sp03.labs.bmc.com (CAI:AppRegistry)
- MidTier configuration (http://servername:8080/arsys/shared/config/config.jsp) stores server in all uppercase. When you try to modify anything, it doesnt accept changes, you need to create a new server and delete the old one to make any modifications. Sometime the application password doesnt work (authenticate) after a fresh install
- BMC Developer Studio doesn't have a big enough heap size to open Active Links. You need to adjust the heap size in the devstudio.ini file, I usually set this to: -Xms1024m -Xmx2048m
- Microsoft Windows 2008 (64 bit) on Microsoft SQL 2008 and on Oracle 11g
NOTE: If you install SMPM, remember to update the "SYS:Integration Management" form with the hostname details. For some reason the installer doesn't do it when I install it

Vishal Maharaj Aug 26, 2011 8:07 AM (in response to Wallace Roets)1 of 1 people found this helpfulYou have change the path of the working directory in configuration.xml to the path of where your Migration tool is installed.
…\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator\DeltaDataMigration\configuration.xml
Example.
<delta work-dir=".\Working" migrator-dir="E:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator">
Also add this system env variable
MIGRATOR-DIR=E:\Program Files (x86)\BMC Software\Migrator\migrator

4. Re: BMC Remedy ITSM Suite Preconfigured Stack Installer - Needs fine Tuning
Michael Worts Mar 6, 2013 2:42 PM (in response to Wallace Roets)Hmmm. I have tried numerous times to install using the 8.0 and 8.1 preconfigured stack installer on my Win2008/Oracle 11g system. It fails to install AR Server and AR Midtier. After checking the ar.cfg file, it seems to be pointing to a completely different server to the ones I entered during the installation. It also points to a completely different TWO-TASK database as well. DO you think this is all related to the same "portmapper" issue you mentioned?

I had this issue during 8.0 beta. If it still continues you should contact BMC Support.

Bartosz M Sep 17, 2014 4:03 AM (in response to Laurent Matheo)Hello,
I have small question, I would like to use ITSM Suite Preconfigured Stack Installer 7.6.04 because it contains all modules I want to install (). Is there a possibility to install all modules except MidTier,Remedy Migrator, DEV Studio or in this case I will have to use seperate installation packages?
Bart.
