have you checked ownership of /export/patrol and recursive dirs to patrol default user ? did you run install as patrol default user ?
Please see the permission :
bash-3.00$ cd ..
bash-3.00$ ls -l
drwxr-xr-x 2 ctma ctma 2 Mar 8 14:41 ctma
drwxr-xr-x 24 root root 24 Mar 10 08:24 home
drwxr-xr-x 2 1001 dba 512 Mar 10 08:24 oracle
drwxr-xr-x 11 patrol patrol 16 Mar 14 13:36 patrol
Though i am not able run the ./set_default_account script file. Its not accetping my username for patrol while I run the script.
why do you install into patrol user's home ? it's not problem to run it from that directory, but just to be sure - try to create separate /opt/bmc directory, set ownership to patrol:patrol and install it into this directory.
Are you usig ldap? If so will need to modify the site.plc file.
From your installation log files, tail the "display" log - tail *display*
Let's see who owns /export/patrol/Patrol3
Look into your config.default file and note the hash for the default account. Then find sec_crypt_p3 (or something like that) and run your password against to see if the resulting hash equals what is in your config.default.
