    ADDM 8.0 / 8.1 console problem

      Hi All,

       

      While start the ADDM 8.x, im getting one message "Appliance has been shut down". I have rebooted this appliance but i am not able to start the appliance. Please help me for this.

          Do a force refresh in your browser (Ctrl-F5) and ensure it's not the browser caching an old page.

            Thanks 4 ur reply.

            I did so many times refresh but same message is coming that "Appliance has been shut down". I am still unable to log in ADDM. Please do the needful anything else...

              First - have you raised this issue with support who may be able to help you faster?

               

              Second - how much disk space have you made available to the VA? We have a safety mechanism that shuts down the appliance if disk space is low before we run out of space to cleanly shut the datastore.

               

              Third - Are you running VMware in 'bridged' mode for the network

               

              Fourth - What is the output of the command "sudo /sbin/service tideway status" run from the appliance CLI as the user tideway

                Thanks again.

                 

                I have made around 27 GB disk space available to the VA.

                 

                I am running VMware in 'host' mode for the network, not in "Bridged" mode.

                 

                I am not able to use this command. Could you please elaborate? ( "sudo /sbin/service tideway status" )

                 

                So still there is same problem "The appliance has been shut down".

                  Are you using a commerical edition of ADDM 8?

                   

                  The command is a unix command to run on the VA command line after logging in as the tideway user via ssh. It will report the status of the essential services in the VA.

                   

                  If you are having difficulty with that step you may be better progressing it with support.

                      Hi Charles,

                       

                      I got support from BMC. They support Tideway installed only on VMware server V2.0 and ESX version 3.0.2 or later.

                      Now Im able to log in.

                                i am too facing same problem.

                                 

                                i try to stop and then start services, while stopping tideway service.

                                it gave following result-- >

                                then AS PER checklist you asked to pankaj... i did following

                                 

                                1) disk space is as default --> 54 GB and i have 91 GB free space on drive(D:) from where i am running VA.

                                 

                                2) i am using VA on --> Bridged Network.

                                 

                                3) sudo /sbin/service tideway status gives following information.

                                 

                                 

                                 

                                sudo /sbin/service tideway status

                                gives following result

                                 

                                [tideway@ColumnIT-Somnath ~]$ sudo /sbin/service tideway status
