I have never tried so I don't know...
Why you don't use the template functionality do achieve that?
The user wants to be able to copy a ticket of one they previously did - for example a user called in about a Word problem and then the next day someone calls it about the same problem.
The user can search the Incident preiously created and create a new incident by using ctrl+t (Copy to new).
That was my question - if the user does a copy to NEW will this mess up any hidden fields on the Incident Form.
I did a copy to new of an existing incident then compared it to the once I copied from in a report. All looked fine to me. You might try the same to be sure you don't have something different from my server envirionment.
The number of assignments field do not get copied over, and as well the workinfo
Is "copy to new" feature available to copy Service Requests or Work Orders? How did you do it? Custom coding?
Copy to New isn't exposed for Work Order, at least n 7.6.04 using the web client. Generally it's not recommended anyway, due to possibly bringing over some hidden fields you don't want. It can be exposed through Developer Studio; or you can build a button to push the info you want from the old work order to the new (like "copy change" does in Change Mgmt)
SRM, you cannot copy existing requests. That would be a customization.
