Allow PKI (client certificate) authentication. EWS is now supported in later releases, but support for EWS only provides it’s use with a user name and a password. Our EWS requirements for applications to poll for incoming mail requires the use of a client certificate. The requirements for us, the Remedy application, to use EWS is to pass in a certificate.
Here are the most basic requirements:
- The customer obtains a static client certificate and places it in a keystore on the Remedy email server.
- The EWS configuration on the Remedy incoming mail configuration must allow a customer to choose that static certificate in lieu of selecting a user name and password.
- The EWS WSDL would include that certificate following standard SOAP client certificate options for EWS using HTTPS.
