Ability to filter Smart IT dashboard using groups that are not under the Company selected

Today in the dashboard on Smart IT you can filter the data displayed by selecting a support group - but you can only select groups under the Company for which you want to view the data.  We have a highly multi-tenant set-up with more than 1000 customers so we need to filter the data by customer company.  All of our support groups sit under a separate 'Operating Company'.  When I select a customer company in the dashboard I get no option to choose a support group from a company other than the one selected.  That makes the dashboard pretty useless for us.
